Product Overview

Manufactured from carefully selected high-quality bituminous coal through controlled high-temperature steam activation, B-90 powdered activated carbon features a highly developed porous structure with a specific surface area of over 900 m²/g. It provides excellent adsorption performance for low-concentration organic pollutants, disinfection by-products, odor and chroma in water. With uniform fine particle size, it offers fast adsorption speed and high utilization rate, suitable for scenarios requiring high purification accuracy.

Key Features

  • Enhanced Organic Removal

Higher adsorption capacity than standard powdered grades, effectively capturing trace organic pollutants, micro-pollutants, and refractory compounds in municipal waterworks and industrial effluent treatment.

  • High Surface Area Development

Abundant micropore and mesopore networks provide extensive contact sites, supporting efficient contaminant removal in chemical purification and biological activated carbon (BAC) processes.

  • Rapid Kinetics Ultra-Fine Powder

Maximizes surface contact with treatment media, achieving fast adsorption equilibrium and reducing required contact time in batch dosing and continuous flow systems.

  • Stable pH Compatibility

Natural alkaline range maintains consistent performance across conventional water treatment chemistries without requiring downstream neutralization adjustments.

  • Dual Municipal & Chemical Purification Capability

Engineered for both large-scale municipal drinking water plants and precision industrial applications including chemical intermediate refining and BAC system supplementation.

Applications

  • Micro-Polluted Source Water Deep Treatment: Municipal water plants drawing from micro-polluted sources face trace organic pollutants and emerging contaminants. B-90's higher iodine value and larger surface area provide enhanced removal capacity for these challenging low-concentration pollutants that standard grades struggle with.

  • Fine Chemical & Pharmaceutical Purification: High-purity chemical and pharmaceutical intermediate production requires removal of trace colored impurities and organic byproducts. B-90's enhanced adsorption capacity achieves higher product purity at lower dosage rates.

  • Advanced Wastewater Reuse: Industrial wastewater tertiary treatment for reuse demands higher effluent standards. B-90's superior adsorption for trace organics helps meet stringent COD and TOC discharge or reuse limits.

  • High-End Biological Activated Carbon Systems: Premium BAC systems for high-standard drinking water and reclaimed water projects benefit from B-90's higher organic capacity, extending the synergy between adsorption and biodegradation.

FAQ

Q: When should I choose B-90 instead of B-80?

A: Choose B-90 when your project has strict effluent quality requirements, such as deep treatment of micro-polluted source water or fine chemical purification requiring high product purity. B-80 is a cost-effective choice for conventional high-standard projects. For the highest precision, consider B-A0.

Q: Can B-90 be used with coagulants?

A: Yes, B-90 is usually dosed before the coagulation tank and works together with coagulants and flocculants. Carbon particles are removed with flocs during sedimentation and filtration. For continuous fixed-bed applications, GAC-P granular carbon is recommended.

Q: What are the storage requirements?

A: Store in a dry, cool and ventilated warehouse away from fire sources and volatile organic substances. Avoid mixing with dusty or odorous materials. For food-grade storage requirements, F-14 or F-16 wood-based carbon should be stored separately.
