Product Overview

YK-AC starts with high-density premium granular coconut shell carbon processed through controlled steam activation to develop a uniform micropore structure with high adsorption capacity. The carbon then undergoes multi-stage deep acid washing and deionized water rinsing to remove soluble mineral ash, metal ions and silica residues from the carbon matrix, achieving ultra-low extractable impurity levels.

As granular coconut shell activated carbon instead of extruded pellets, YK-AC delivers high mechanical strength, low pressure drop and excellent bed uniformity in deep-bed filtration systems. Its neutral effluent pH and minimal leachable metals make it ideal for condensate polishing where even trace levels of ionic contamination can cause boiler corrosion and reduce turbine efficiency. The product is also widely used in semiconductor UPW systems and pharmaceutical water for injection (WFI) pretreatment.

Q: What is the difference between YK-AC and PSD-A1 S?

A: PSD-A1 S is granular acid-washed coconut carbon for general high-purity water and POU. YK-AC is pellet-form deep acid-washed carbon specifically engineered for deep-bed condensate polishing with tighter controls on extractable metals, silica and bed hydraulic performance. For general UPW, LC-A0 S is also an option.

Q: Is YK-AC suitable for high-temperature condensate?

A: Yes. YK-AC maintains stable structure and adsorption performance at typical condensate temperatures, suitable for direct installation in condensate polishing loops. For extreme temperature applications, consult our technical team.

Q: Does acid washing reduce adsorption capacity?

A: No. Acid washing removes only soluble mineral ash and impurities without damaging the internal pore network. YK-AC retains full adsorption capacity for organic contaminants. For non-acid-washed pellet alternatives, PLC-370/PLC-470 are available.
