Product Overview

LAC granular activated carbon uses high-quality bituminous coal as raw material, processed through carbonization and controlled steam activation to form a well-developed porous structure. It provides effective adsorption of organic pollutants, residual chlorine, color and odor in water, with low floating rate and high mechanical strength to adapt to long-term filtration and backwashing operations.

Available in standard and customizable particle sizes, it fits most commercial fixed-bed water treatment systems and is a cost-effective choice for conventional water purification scenarios.

Key Features

  • Stable Adsorption Performance

Effectively removes organic matter, residual chlorine and odor in water, meets the requirements of conventional drinking water and process water treatment.

  • Low Floating Rate

Reduces carbon loss during water filling and backwashing, maintains stable filling height of filter bed for long-term operation.

  • High Mechanical Strength

Resistant to friction and extrusion, produces less fine powder, extends backwashing cycle and reduces downstream blockage risk.

Applications

  • Ultrapure Water Pretreatment: Electronics and pharmaceutical UPW systems need reliable organic and chlorine removal upstream of RO and EDI. LAC provides dependable pretreatment performance at a cost-effective price point for large-scale industrial installations where premium coconut shell grades would be economically impractical.

  • Beer & Beverage Process Water: Food production water treatment requires consistent organic removal and taste improvement. LAC's stable adsorption performance and customizable sizing fit most commercial filter systems without modification.

  • POE Building Water Filtration: Whole-building or plant inlet water systems need bulk removal of residual chlorine, odor and conventional organic pollutants. LAC's economical pricing and reliable performance make it standard for large-fill-volume POE projects.

  • General Industrial Process Water: Manufacturing facilities across industries require basic organic and chlorine removal for process water, cooling water and boiler feed pretreatment. LAC's wide adaptability handles these routine demands.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between LAC and GAC series?

A: LAC and standard GAC are both conventional coal-based granular activated carbon with similar performance positioning for conventional water treatment. LAC supports more flexible particle size customization. For higher adsorption capacity, consider LAC-P or GAC-P.

Q: What is the recommended service life in drinking water systems?

A: For conventional municipal tap water treatment, recommended service life is 8–12 months. Actual cycle depends on influent water quality, treatment flow rate and effluent requirements. Regular detection of effluent residual chlorine and TOC is the most reliable replacement basis. For extended life, GAC-P offers higher capacity.

Q: Can LAC be used for wastewater treatment?

A: LAC can be used for advanced treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater. For higher pollutant load scenarios, we recommend WT-series special wastewater treatment granular carbon with stronger pollution loading capacity.
