Product Overview

Made from selected high-quality coconut shell raw material, PLC series pellet activated carbon is processed through fine grinding, precision extrusion molding and deep steam activation. It inherits the advantages of natural coconut shell carbon with high micropore ratio, low ash content and good adsorption effect on small molecular gases and odorous substances, and has ultra-high mechanical strength with ball-pan hardness over 95% through forming process. With CTC value over 70%, it has good adsorption capacity for VOCs, sulfides and odorous gases, and produces extremely low dust under long-term airflow scouring.

Available in 3mm (PLC-370) and 4mm (PLC-470) diameters, they are widely used in commercial air purification, HVAC systems, carbon dioxide purification and solvent recovery scenarios with high cleanliness requirements.

Key Features

  • Coconut Shell High Purity Base

Low ash content, no peculiar smell, no secondary pollution, suitable for indoor air purification and high-purity gas treatment.

  • Ultra-high Mechanical Strength (>95% ball-pan hardness)

Extremely low wear rate under continuous airflow scouring, minimal dust generation, maintains clean downstream air.

  • Good Small Molecule Adsorption Performance

High micropore ratio, excellent removal effect on low boiling point solvents, odorous gases and small molecular VOCs.

  • Standard Pellet Size Options

3mm (PLC-370) and 4mm (PLC-470) specifications available, compatible with various commercial filter housings.

Applications

  • High-End HVAC & Commercial Air Purification: Hospitals, data centers, cleanrooms and premium commercial buildings require minimal dust generation and consistent odor/VOC removal. PLC-370/470's coconut shell base with ultra-high hardness (>95% ball-pan) produces virtually no dust under continuous airflow, maintaining downstream cleanliness while adsorbing low molecular weight odors and VOCs.

  • Food-Grade CO₂ Purification: Carbon dioxide used in beverages and food preservation must meet strict purity standards. PLC-370/470's low ash and high micropore ratio remove hydrocarbon and odor impurities without introducing contaminants that would affect taste or safety.

  • Low Boiling Point Solvent Recovery: Recovery of low boiling point solvents (acetone, methanol, ethanol) requires high micropore ratio and clean desorption. PLC-370/470's coconut shell micropore dominance and thermal stability support efficient recovery of these challenging solvents.

  • Catalyst Support in Sensitive Reactions: Gas-phase catalytic reactions requiring high purity and low ash benefit from PLC-370/470's clean coconut shell substrate and uniform pellet structure.

Technical Advantages

Technical Advantages.png
  • Compared with coal-based pellet carbon, lower ash content and higher micropore ratio deliver better adsorption effect on small molecular odors and sulfides, more suitable for indoor air scenarios.

  • Ultra-high ball-pan hardness with extremely low dust drop meets cleanliness requirements of commercial indoor and high-purity gas systems.

  • Uniform pellet structure with stable pressure drop can directly replace ordinary granular carbon without adjusting fan parameters.

  • Thermally regenerable with stable performance after multiple cycles suitable for continuously operating ventilation and gas treatment systems.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between PLC series and GPC series?

A: PLC pellet carbon has regular shape, uniform bed resistance and ultra-high hardness suitable for high-flow ventilation and low-dust scenarios. GPC granular carbon has richer surface pore structure and faster adsorption rate suitable for high-concentration waste gas and liquid phase treatment. For liquid phase, CTC-100 is the granular alternative.

Q: How long is the service life in commercial HVAC?

A: For conventional commercial building HVAC odor control, recommended replacement is 8–12 months. Actual life depends on air volume, pollutant concentration and humidity. For longer life or higher capacity, CTC-100 granular may be suitable depending on system design.

Q: Can PLC-470 be used for solvent recovery?

A: PLC-470 has good adsorption effect on low boiling point solvents and can be used for small recovery systems. For large-scale high-value solvent recovery, coal-based PL-380/PL-390 series with higher CTC may be selected according to cost budget.
