Product Overview

Produced from selected bituminous coal through crushing, screening, carbonization and steam activation processes, WT-S features a balanced pore structure that provides effective removal of organic contaminants, color, taste and odor from water. With an iodine value of ≥900 mg/g and ≥90% abrasion hardness, it maintains stable filtration performance and low attrition loss during normal operation and backwashing cycles.

A: WT-S is the standard economical grade for general-purpose water treatment and routine wastewater polishing. WT-P is the higher-performance grade optimized for BAC processes, advanced tertiary treatment and reclaimed water production. For drinking water, GAC or PSD-A0 are recommended.

Q: Is WT-S suitable for drinking water?

A: WT-S can be used for non-potable water and general municipal pretreatment. For potable water requiring food-grade certification, we recommend NSF-certified PSD series coconut shell carbons.

Q: What is the recommended backwash frequency?

A: For typical municipal wastewater tertiary systems, backwash every 24–72 hours adjusted based on pressure drop and effluent quality. Higher solids loads require more frequent backwashing. For lower maintenance needs, GAC granular carbon may be suitable.
