PL-350 450 High Strength Coal Pellet Carbon – CTC 50% for VOC & Odor Removal

Manufactured from premium bituminous coal through grinding, binder re-forming and high-temperature steam activation, PL-350 and PL-450 are high-strength coal-based pelletized activated carbons. They are specially developed for industrial gas purification, effectively controlling hydrocarbons, benzene, esters and other volatile organic compounds as well as odorous gases, suitable for long-term continuous operation in fixed-bed adsorption systems.

Product Overview

PL series pelletized activated carbon adopts selected high-quality bituminous coal as raw material, processed through crushing, grinding, extrusion molding and deep steam activation to form a uniform cylindrical structure with high mechanical strength. With CTC adsorption value over 50%, it provides reliable adsorption capacity for medium-low concentration VOCs and odorous gases.

The high hardness pellet structure resists abrasion under long-term airflow scouring, produces less dust, and maintains stable bed resistance. PL-350 (3mm diameter) and PL-450 (4mm diameter) are available to match different gas velocity and pressure drop requirements of various industrial waste gas and ventilation systems.

Key Features

  • High Mechanical Strength

Excellent abrasion resistance, low fine powder generation under long-term airflow scouring, suitable for frequent adsorption-desorption cycles.

  • Reliable VOC Adsorption Capacity

Effective removal of hydrocarbons, benzene, esters and other common volatile organic compounds and odorous gases.

  • Standard Pellet Diameter Options

Available in 3mm (PL-350) and 4mm (PL-450), flexible selection based on system airflow and pressure drop design.

  • Uniform Bed Resistance

Regular cylindrical particles with uniform gap, stable pressure drop, avoids channeling effect and local premature breakthrough.

Applications

  • Light-Duty Industrial VOC & Odor Control: Manufacturing facilities with moderate volatile organic compound emissions need reliable, economical treatment. PL-350/450's ≥50% CTC value and high-strength pellet structure provide consistent adsorption for hydrocarbons, benzene and esters without the premium cost of high-CTC recovery grades.

  • Kitchen & Restaurant Exhaust Oil Fume: Cooking operations generate greasy fumes and odorous compounds that clog standard filters. PL-350/450's smooth pellet surface resists oil adhesion and maintains stable bed resistance, extending filter element service life in food service ventilation.

  • Paint Spray Booth Pre-Treatment: Spray operations release paint mist and solvent vapors. PL-350/450 captures organic solvent vapors as a pre-treatment or standalone stage, protecting downstream equipment and meeting basic emission requirements.

  • General Ventilation & Laboratory Exhaust: Central ventilation systems and laboratory fume hood exhaust require routine air purification and odor control. PL-350/450's low pressure drop and stable bed characteristics make it ideal for continuous unattended operation.

Technical Advantages

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between PL-350 and PL-450?

A: PL-350 has 3mm pellet diameter with smaller particle gap and slightly higher pressure drop, suitable for low-flow fine purification. PL-450 has 4mm diameter with lower bed resistance, suitable for high-flow large-air-volume systems. Both share the same CTC adsorption level. For higher CTC needs, consider PL-360/PL-460.

Q: Can PL series be thermally regenerated?

A: Yes, PL series high-strength pellet carbon supports thermal regeneration. After saturation, most adsorption capacity can be restored through high-temperature desorption, suitable for industrial continuous production systems. For frequent regeneration, PL-380/PL-480 offers better desorption performance.

Q: What is the difference between PL and P series pellet carbon?

A: PL series focuses on industrial VOC and odor treatment with high strength and cost performance for large-air-volume systems. P series has higher CTC value, more suitable for solvent recovery and high-concentration organic gas treatment.
