F-16 High Decolorization Wood Powder Carbon – Food Grade Deep Refining

F-16 is an upgraded high-efficiency wood-based powdered activated carbon produced by phosphoric acid activation process. With higher methylene blue value and stronger decolorization capacity than F-14, it is specially designed for deep decolorization and high-purity refining scenarios, suitable for high-color-value raw materials and products with strict chroma requirements.

Product Overview

Produced through optimized phosphoric acid activation process, F-16 powdered activated carbon has more developed mesoporous structure and larger adsorption capacity, with methylene blue adsorption value up to more than 240 mg/g, showing excellent removal effect on high-concentration pigments and refractory colored impurities.

It maintains the food-grade safety standard and uniform fine particle size distribution, with fast adsorption speed and high decolorization depth, suitable for deep decolorization of high-color-value feed liquid and high-end product refining processes.

Key Features

  • Higher Decolorization Capacity (≥240 mg/g methylene blue value)

14% higher decolorization performance than F-14 grade, effectively removes high-concentration pigments and refractory colored impurities, achieves deeper decolorization effect.

  • Food Grade Safety Assurance

Produced under food-grade quality management system, holds food production license, meets the safety standards of food and pharmaceutical industries.

  • Fast Adsorption Kinetics

Uniform ultra-fine particle size, full contact with feed liquid, fast reaching adsorption equilibrium, improves production efficiency.

  • Stable Performance in Acidic System

pH 2–5, maintains high adsorption activity in acidic liquid environment, suitable for acid food and pharmaceutical systems.

Applications

  • High-Color Pharmaceutical Deep Refining: High-color-value pharmaceutical intermediates and traditional medicine extracts contain refractory pigments that standard decolorization grades cannot fully remove. F-16's enhanced mesopore volume and higher methylene blue capacity target these stubborn color bodies, achieving deeper effluent clarity for high-purity drug production.

  • Deep Edible Oil Decolorization: High-color-value crude oils require more than standard color reduction to meet market grade specifications. F-16's stronger adsorption capacity removes chlorophyll, carotenoids and oxidation products that conventional grades leave behind, improving oil color grade and storage stability.

  • High-End Beverage & Alcohol Polishing: Premium functional drinks and aged spirits demand exceptional clarity and taste consistency. F-16's optimized pore structure removes trace color and off-flavor compounds without over-adsorbing desirable aroma and flavor molecules.

  • High-Purity Chemical & Sugar Refining: Fine chemical products and high-grade sugar with strict chroma requirements need ultra-low residual color. F-16 delivers deeper decolorization than conventional grades, reducing the risk of off-spec batches in high-value production lines.

Technical Advantages

Technical Advantages.png
  • Optimized pore size distribution with richer mesopores significantly improves adsorption capacity for macromolecular pigments compared to standard grades.

  • Lower dosage can achieve the same decolorization effect as conventional grades, reducing carbon consumption and slag discharge.

  • Food-grade production control with reliable safety certification, suitable for export-oriented food and pharmaceutical enterprises.

  • Stable batch quality with small chroma difference between batches, ensuring stable product quality of production lines.

FAQ

Q: When should I choose F-16 instead of F-14?

A: Choose F-16 when raw material has high color value or product has strict chroma requirements needing deep decolorization. F-16 has stronger decolorization capacity and achieves better effluent chroma index. For conventional decolorization, F-14 offers better cost performance.

Q: Can F-16 be used for drinking water treatment?

A: F-series wood-based powdered carbon is mainly designed for liquid product decolorization in food and pharmaceutical production. For municipal drinking water treatment, we recommend coal-based B-series powdered activated carbon.

Q: What is the difference between F-16 and coal-based decolorizing carbon?

A: F-16 wood-based carbon has more developed mesopores and better effect on macromolecular pigment decolorization, and is food-grade safe. Coal-based carbon has more micropores, lower cost, and is more suitable for conventional industrial wastewater and small molecular impurity treatment. For coal-based liquid decolorization, consider DC or DCS granular grades.
